Everyone’s welcome at our regular chilled performances.
Our chilled performances are designed to provide a more relaxed and welcoming theatre experience for anyone who may benefit from a less formal environment.
During these performances, the auditorium remains a judgement-free space where movement, sound and coming and going are welcomed. House lights may be kept on at a low level, and audience members are free to leave and re-enter the auditorium if needed.
The main difference between chilled performances and relaxed performances is that relaxed performances may include changes to a show’s content and technical features, such as reduced volume or the removal of strobe lighting. Chilled performances present the show with no changes or adaptations. Where possible, we’ll provide detailed advance information about difficult themes, sudden or loud noises, dramatic lighting changes and any other sensory triggers.
Chilled performances can be particularly suitable for people who are neurodivergent, have learning disabilities or experience anxiety, as well as anyone who would feel more comfortable in a less formal theatre environment.
Our team will provide information in advance to help you plan your visit and will be on hand throughout the performance to offer support if required.
