British Sign Language interpretation is available at many of our shows.
Our British Sign Language (BSL) interpreted performances are designed for D/deaf audience members who use BSL as their first or preferred language.
At these performances, a qualified BSL interpreter will stand to one side of the stage and interpret the spoken dialogue, songs and key elements of the performance into British Sign Language, enabling audiences to enjoy the show in a way that best meets their needs.
We reserve seats with clear sightlines to both the stage and the interpreter. Priority tickets for BSL performances are available to members of the Marlowe’s Access Scheme, which you can join online for free. For details and to sign up, visit this page.

Our Main House and Studio theatres are both equipped with Sennheiser Tourguide 2020-D hearing loop systems, which use radio frequencies to amplify sound from the stage. Personal induction loops are available for use with a hearing aid, and headphones are available for those who don’t wear hearing aids.
Head to the Box Office to collect induction loops and headphones. Our Box Office team will be able to help you get started with them, and you can also download full written instructions from this link.
We’re delighted to welcome assistance dogs to the Marlowe, including our Main House and Studio theatres. We can also offer a dog-sitting service during performances – if you’d like to book, please contact us at least one week in advance.
