The Marlowe Bursary Award is open to young Kent residents aged 7–17 and their families who have a genuine interest in performing but for whom cost would be a barrier to joining the Marlowe Youth Company. The factors we take into account when determining eligibility are set out on the application form.

Marlowe Youth Company fees vary depending on age group, from £16.50/month (£198/year) for the Minis to £33/month (£396/year) for the Young Creatives and Performance Ensemble. Full details of all fees are included on each dedicated Marlowe Youth Company group page.

Yes. We accept applications from current or previous Youth Company members who are hoping to rejoin for the new academic year, as well as from those looking to join for the first time. All applicants must be willing to commit to taking part in Marlowe Youth Company activities for a full academic year.

The Marlowe Bursary Award covers an academic year, starting each September. Applications for the 2027-28 bursaries will open in spring 2027. Please look out for our emails or get in touch with our team at youngpeople@marlowetheatre.com to join our mailing list.

We recognise that financial challenges can intersect with other barriers to taking part in the arts, and we are committed to making our Youth Company both accessible and representative of our diverse society and region. In addition to meeting financial criteria, we particularly welcome applications from young people who, either themselves or through their families, have experience of:

• disability;
• being in care;
• being a care-giver or care-leaver;
• being a refugee or asylum-seeker; or
• speaking a language other than English at home.
