Based on Malorie Blackman’s acclaimed novel, Pig Heart Boy explores themes of identity, resilience and ethics for school audiences aged 9 and upwards.

Pig Heart Boy is an inspiring, thought-provoking theatre experience for children aged 9 and upwards. His only chance of survival involves a groundbreaking medical procedure — a pig heart transplant.

The production, adapted by Winsome Pinnock and directed by Tristan Fynn-Aiduenu, explores themes of identity, resilience, and ethical dilemmas. The production offers key benefits for schools: curriculum alignment with PSHE and English, emphasis on diversity and inclusion, and encouragement of critical thinking about ethical issues.

Schools’ tickets start at £12.50 per student, with one complimentary teacher ticket for every ten purchased. Pig Heart Boy runs at the Marlowe Theatre 4–7 June 2025.
