Students from the Marlowe Academy of Performing Arts share their experiences ahead of their final major project, Nora: A Doll’s House.

The Marlowe Academy of Performing Arts (MAPA) second cohort is preparing to present their final major project, Nora: A Doll’s House. Students Evie Smith and William Winchester discussed their two-year learning experience in this UAL Level 3 Extended Diploma programme, a collaboration between East Kent Colleges Group and the Marlowe Theatre.

William highlights the programme’s comprehensive opportunities: “We work with practitioners, playwrights like Alecky Blythe, and learn about things like puppetry.” He notes the programme exposed him to diverse theatrical styles and skills including combat fighting.

Evie emphasises professional exposure: “We met Maddy Hill and she did a mock audition process with us.” This real-world experience gives students advantages at drama school auditions. The students will perform on Friday 5 and Saturday 6 June.
