Deborah Shaw
Artistic Director
Deborah leads the Marlowe Theatre’s artistic and strategic vision across Kent.
Deborah oversees the theatre’s programme of touring and home-produced work and its growing creative learning offer. She joined the Marlowe in 2018 after senior roles at major regional venues, and is passionate about making world-class theatre accessible to everyone.
She sits on several arts and education boards and champions partnerships between the theatre and schools, community groups and artists across the South East.

James oversees the theatre’s education and participation programmes.
Working with schools, young people and community groups across the region, James leads a year-round programme of workshops, residencies and youth theatre.
He believes creative learning changes lives and works to remove barriers to participation for young people across Kent.
